The Originals

The Originals #31

I couldn't put my finger on it, but something was happening to me.

Yeah, I got around to chatting it up with Lizzie about Sam. Naturally, Will would take no part in it. I might as well have been happy about it, since Liza wasn't exactly approving, me getting back with my boyfriend.

"I dunno why you'd even call him, a boyfriend." She was sour on my situation while everything was just dandy with her Sam. Oh, this was one bird who could do no wrong her books.

"I hear she gets in a row, over the littlest things." Couldn't she at least listen to me for a bit? Didn't even ask if I cared for a brew. No, she was all testy when I brought up Sam and the disco.

"Well, they had it coming." She glared at me as if I was the one with the problem. "Don't you see? She's protecting." Next thing I knew she's asking, if I feel well. Told me I was looking peaked. Asked me what had I been doing with good ole Will.

I didn't get it. Yeah, my back hurt. I did feel as if I could sleep for a month or two. But it was just the revisions. I was up late at night. Soon I'd recover. I'd have too.

"I bet ,you never got around to the clinic." Now she was all Miss Homebody. She went to put on a brew.

"What clinic?" Was I missing something? I waited in her family's little dining room while she was in the kitchen, sorting out cookies.

"You know, which clinic." She was still looking sore about Will and me.

I squinted hard. What was she expecting? No way, would this be morning sickness. Probably that kissing disease.

She had nothing good to say of it, either. Sounded like a virus that could get into your system and would never leave.
