Little known fact about Winter Storm Q:
It is named after Q from Star Trek: TNG, because this storm is known for its petulance and ego, as well as its penchant for dressing people up in medieval clothes.

I think I just heard on the news we might get a foot of snow on Thursday. Eek! Brrr..its already windy. It snowed a little on Monday, but then the cold came with more wind. Argh...

Dang, if Presidents day didn't put a wrench in the week. That means putting in extra hours. Well, at least I had Monday off. Yet, looks like this week could be a real snow storm.

Chewy Chocolate Meringues
Ingredients:

• 7 egg whites
• 1 lb sugar
• 1 oz cocoa powder
• 4 oz bittersweet chocolate, finely chopped

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350˚, and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a clean and dry heatproof bowl, whisk together egg whites and sugar. Set over simmering water in a saucepan.
Whisk constantly until the sugar is completely dissolved and remove from heat.
Beat the eggs on high speed until stiff and glossy
Sift cocoa over the meringue. Sprinkle chopped chocolate on top. Fold together gently with a spatula until combined
Use a scoop to drop even amounts of meringue onto baking sheets about 2 inches apart.
Bake for about 8-9 minutes. Rotate the pans and bake for another 8-9 minutes until the meringues are fluffy and full of cracks
Transfer the cookies, leaving them on the parchment paper, to wire racks to cool.

I feel like my whole we has been putting in extra hours at work. I know I shouldn't complain. Perhaps I just haven't had enough me time.

Now..with this impending storm, I have to babysit my brother's dog. I get along with the dog. I think, but we are going to have some a lot of alone time together. And I dunno. I think she knows I'm kind of afraid of her.

He'll probably be stuck at work plowing snow all night. I might have to sleep with her. And I have to work in tomorrow..when every place I know is close. Ugh. I just want to stay home and have hot chocolate and maybe watch some old TV show on NETFLIX.

Its a strange film. It did make me think a little bit of ELEPHANT. It was made in 2009 about a loner (Ezra Miller) who rooms with a drug dealer at a prep school.

I did try to watch AFTERSCHOOL today, but it was kind of hard to get through. I mean on one level its so dark and very real. But I'm not so sure I love all the director's camera angles. There are parts that feel too far away and sometimes, you just see part of someone's head or just the back of them.

On one hand, I understand why he did it, yet it gets a little tedious. It is a rather strange story. I had to switch to something a little more well, upbeat and light. So I started watching JUST PECK. And what is weird about it is that two of the main actors went on to play sibling in UNITED STATES OF TARA. Anyway, it was a good independent film about a Freshman who falls for a Senior. It was a good friendship movie.

Well...lets hope I make to the weekend.
