wee bit of wednesday with ellie

It felt like the worst day ever at work. We had a department meeting. It got ugly. Maybe I'm to blame. But one co-worker made me feel I needed to go to bat for her. I probably spoke up more than I should have. I made my boss mad.

She has to be the worst teacher in the world when it comes to showing us how to do anything. You have to guess, practically. Most of the computer stuff I do..I figure it out on my own. Then wait to see what I've done wrong. She will change her mind about tasks and so on. Of course, she's been on vacation for a month. Anyway, I mentioned how I didn't like how I was treated with the second in command while she was gone. Its not that I don't like her. She's just hard to know. And she can only bring you down. You never hear her ever say anything nice.  Usually, I just work around her. Do my best. I am trying not to dwell on it. I doubt I even make any sense at the moment.

Lars has had his own little battles this week too. As it is, he has weekends off, but he's started stubbing on Saturdays at the Post Office. I just don't want to see him turn into my Dad. I think the job is a lot harder than he thought. Also the heat is not helping.

I had no idea he'd need so much sleep, but he does. Maybe we both need more vitamins.

I did get a chance to talk with the volunteer who lives around the corner. She was telling me the doctor wants her to cut back on all her volunteering. She can hardly wait for school start. She reads to first graders. She was once a telephone operator. I don't think she ever married. She asked if we had any deer in our back yard. I told her about the stampede I heard coming down the street one night. I thought it was horses.

Well, My dad thought he'd found a male Siamese cat out and about. Now he thinks the cat is gonna have babies anyday. Unfortunately, the cat is rather feral.

Hopefully, we'll make it til the weekend.

  1. The cat may be feral, but the kittens are probably not. But then, someone has to go about the business of getting them adopted. Outdoor cats really don't live very long...

  2. You are so right, Iris. I'm hoping we could somehow get the cat to the Animal Human Society.

  3. Oh wow, it sounds like you have a lot going on! Hopefully work gets a bit easier, I hate when people just expect you to know things without explaining them.
