SOON ENOUGH

No one had told Megan about the cross-dressing.

She looked at Smed. He had to know. It was dark. A bonfire going. Crazy people drinking. Showing off their brawn in lingerie while smoking pot.

Well, she had to act like this always happened at every party. All that laughter and silliness. Smoking and strutting. Poising. Acting like idiots. Tongues like serpents and vodka for everyone.

"You know, we don't have to stay." Smed shrugged.

"No, no, I'm fine. I'm just great." Megan would just get in the middle of it. She grabbed her a beer. Smed lit a cigarette and just watched. Before long she found someone to dance with. She could schmooze with the rest of them. Of course, weren't they laughing at her, than anything else?

It did not take much for her to get drunk. Soon enough Smed was holding her back, as she was trying to find her way to the lake.

"But there is a lake here." She belched. "I want to go swimming." She did her best to say.

"No. Not tonight." He had a hold of her waist.

"But I wanna!" She was very adamant about it.

"You might drown." He told her as she fell to the ground like a child. She kicked off her flip-flops, lost in the sand. Finally. He threw her over his shoulder and went to the car with her. It was getting late.

"But I was just starting to have fun." She moaned as if he was the worst, ever. Soon after though, she dropped off to sleep on the way home.
